Hi, everyone! I'd like you to meet Tabby. I'm sure you've heard that old expression curiosity killed the cat. Well, in Tabby's case he came close to that many times. His curiosity got him into a lot of trouble. He was an outdoor cat and really enjoyed it. There were lots of critters to watch and chase.
One day however, his curious nature got him more than he bargained for. We could see him out the back window and could tell there was something under a bush that had gotten his attention. And, he was soon tangling with a rattle snake that did not appreciate him poking his nose in where the snake felt it didn't belong. We were soon rushing him to the vet with a rattle snake bite on his leg. Even though Tabby was an outdoor cat the vet suggested we keep him inside for about six weeks while he was healing and that way we could put the medication on his leg.
After six weeks of being pampered and treated Tabby was let back outside. We watched as he got reacquainted with his old stomping grounds. To our horror he headed right back to the very same area he had encountered the rattle snake and then we saw him jump back. What was he thinking? We just knew he had gotten bit again! After examining him we were thankful to find out he was ok- no snake bites. When we told the vet what had happened he said- he was counting down on his nine lives and then he laughed. :)
Now we all know that cats don't really have nine lives but sometimes it sure seems like it- especially in Tabby's case.
Things don't always go the way we'd like here in this life, but we have hope for help here and a better life to come. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Think about it the King of the universe died for us. His love is amazing! And, it doesn't end there, He is preparing a place for us. Jesus said "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And, if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:1-3 Jesus will be back for us to take us to the special place He is preparing for us. The Bible tells us that in this place there won't be any more pain, crying, sickness or things that make us sad. In fact, it says God will wipe away all tears. Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe all tears away from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." That's my kind of place! We have that hope and promise! I can't wait to give Jesus a hug and thank Him and God the Father for everything and hear all the wonderful stories that happened down through the ages. I would also like to talk to my guardian angel. I really would like to find out just how many times my angel stepped in and helped me. I think we'll be amazed.
Try and picture in your mind the home that Jesus is preparing for you. A place where nothing bad will ever happen. And, have a wonderful day!
